What We Did

Utilising gifted product from two brands that I’ve worked with previously, RED Equipment Co and Shackleton, principal photographer/filmmaker Fabio Kraniotis and I set out to create a showcase campaign for Access Adventure Productions. Our aim was to deliver a bank of authentic adventure content that also showcased product.

I travelled to Greece where I met up with Fabio and we hired a car. We drove five or six hours into the night to get to our target location. We parked up at the base of a mountainous area that was our access point to the lake that we were aiming for, and hiked there in the dark before making an easy-camp.

When we woke a few hours later, just before sunrise, the conditions for filming on the lake were absolutely perfect; there was not a breath of wind. Because we were a small team able to react quickly we could make the most of these conditions and set up to film the paddleboard on the lake as the sun rose. After that, we recreated the morning routine at camp to capture stills featuring the Shackleton jacket.

This production became our primary pitch-winning piece of work, demonstrating unequivocally that a small multi-hyphenate team can produce the same results as much larger production crews, and in doing so be more authentic to the adventures being portrayed.
